Bormio is an important and famous ski resort situated in Alta Valtellina, in the heart of the Alps, an area with a long tradition of hospitality and mountain sports, close to Swizerland and Austria at the altitude of 1225m. The town of Bormio is rich of history and it is possible to visit different monuments, churches, historical museums and ancient buildings decorated with frescoes and grafites. Here it is possible to ski not only in winter but also during the summer on the glacier Stelvio. The area also offers its tourists the possibility to visit the biggest National park in Italy. Bormio,which is only 250km. from Milan, is very famous abroad thanks to sport events held there in recent years: Bormio is the perfect place for hosting world renowned events such as the World Cup races and the World Alpine Ski Championships.
